Coffee is not only a favorite drink for many people but also reveals much about the drinker’s personality, according to the new book The You Code. The two authors, Judi James and James Moore, British body language experts, have “decoded” coffee preferences to understand a person’s character.

Espresso addicts:
James and Moore describe espresso as the “unfiltered cigarette in the coffee world.” People who prefer this drink tend to be quiet, somewhat distant but very hardworking. They often take on leadership roles and achieve their goals quickly. They are not easily fooled, making it hard for them to socialize. Those who choose espresso are adventurous lovers, quite interesting and talented. However, trust and loyalty often don’t appear in their “dictionary.”
Black coffee fans:
Those addicted to black coffee tend to be straightforward, unpretentious, and sincere. They are quite reserved and moody but also have moments of extroversion. James and Moore conclude that “these people are difficult to approach but have great potential.”
Cappuccino lovers:
Like cappuccino itself, people who like it tend to be dreamy like bubbles, dislike details and fussiness, and are indifferent to material things.
Instant coffee enthusiasts:
These are cheerful, frank people who like to laugh and live by the motto “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.” However, instant coffee drinkers tend to be risk-averse in their careers and need others to understand them. They dislike insincerity.
Those who don’t drink coffee:
Unfortunately, experts’ opinion about these people is not favorable. Being afraid of coffee means being afraid of life, James and Moore conclude. If the taste of coffee doesn’t entice you, you are still a child and it’s time to join the adult world.
