Four sips of coffee

New Philosophy of Coffee

That is an obvious truth that anyone can find. Compared to other popular drinks such as wine, tea, and milk, coffee is superior.

Wine and other alcoholic drinks provide stimulation, but it is a stimulation that is difficult to control, easily creating many bad consequences. It can be said that it is a lack of alertness stimulation.

Tea brings alertness but is less stimulating.

Milk only brings energy.

Coffee is a combination of all three drinks above, both alert, stimulating, and energetic.

But just drinking coffee does not mean you can absorb all the values and potential power of coffee. To be able to fully develop the values of coffee, people also need to learn how to enjoy it.

Because each sip of coffee is guided by a different idea, and those four ideas combined with the aroma of coffee will create a combination of flavors of success and happiness. Sip by sip, you should relax your body and enjoy it deeply, in those few seconds, do not think of anything else but feel the flavor of coffee along with the corresponding ideas.

The first sip of coffee should be the sip of Desire, the second sip is the sip of Concentration, the third sip is the sip of Creativity, and the fourth sip is the sip of Courage.

Take the first sip of coffee while listening to your own desire. Every great success must start from a great desire. What is a great desire? Don’t think that a great desire is something lofty and must be great and enormous. It is not! A truly great desire for a person is to identify his or her own goals and core competencies – to identify what I do best, no one can do it better than me, even if it is just a small thing like cooking, sewing, etc.

Bitterness is the most characteristic and prominent taste of coffee. The bitter taste of coffee is mainly formed by two stages, the planting and processing stages. Coffee is grown in areas with high altitudes above sea level (over 500 to about 2000m above sea level), so from the moment it is a fruit tree, coffee has a strong and resilient personality, enduring and adapting to harsh changes in the environment. Nowadays, the processing of all types of coffee must go through the roasting stage, which means that the coffee is forged through fire. Then through grinding, or through many more processing stages, we can enjoy a cup of coffee. Perhaps that is why the bitter taste of coffee brings us the strength and courage that it has gone through.

When you take the second sip of coffee, focus your thoughts on concentration. Focus on identifying the difficulty, or threat, or core challenge that you are facing to fulfill your great aspiration or great mission. When you have taken the second sip, your taste buds have gradually become accustomed to the bitter taste and the other flavors that feel the aftertaste will become more distinct. That is the support for us to combine all the barriers and clearly identify the real challenge, identify the core problem that we have to solve. Feel the taste of coffee like the taste of life; is the aroma, and the taste, the aftertaste of all the difficulties, worries, challenges, and sufferings. Enjoy it as you enjoy the experiences you have overcome; not only the bitter taste, when you feel deeply enough, you will find the sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors, all five flavors of life in one sip of coffee. Smile at everything, cherish and accept everything, in this life, difficulties or failures, happiness or suffering, nothing is redundant.

Now is the time for the third sip – the sip of coffee that stimulates your boundless creativity. Every human being has his or her own creative ability. Creativity here is the process of connecting, arranging and combining the resources that we have or can mobilize into a solution, a mechanism, a specific program or plan to overcome challenges and reach success.

From coffee and through coffee, we can have connections across all spaces and times if we feel deeply enough about coffee with its entire heritage and potential for the earth that is currently facing so many crises and complex changes. Coffee contains a huge legacy of humanity, from coffee, we can connect with countless great people in all fields, can connect with the modern knowledge economy in which coffee is one of the main energies for it, connect with the global financial system that is increasingly dependent on basic commodities including coffee, connect with more than 2.5 billion people who are drinking coffee globally regardless of all differences in age, race, language, religion, gender, …

And finally, let’s finish our sip of coffee with courage. Many beautiful ideas, good plans, noble missions, great aspirations cannot become reality just because we lack courage. Here is the courage to be ready to act and ready to accept failure and overcome it. We will not succeed without action, and we will always succeed as long as we never accept failure.

Take four sips of coffee every day and repeat that process to form a habit because we believe, it will bring you great courage and inner strength. In every coffee, no one will stop you from spending a few seconds for each conscious sip of coffee, for deep and complete breathing with that irresistible seductive flavor.
